The Wall is one of the major features of Neverwinter that has arisen only after the cataclysm that was the Spellplague. When the disaster opened a great chasm in the south-eastern portion of the city, and terrible creatures changed by the Spellplague began to crawl out, the remaining citizens of the south-western part of the city created a wall separating east from west. Built from old furniture, rubble, wrecked ships and broken carts, the wall kept the south-western part of the city mostly safe.
After Lord Neverember arrived a decade ago, his Mintarn mercenaries made shoring up the wall their first priority. Now the wall is thick, stretching from the walls of the Neverdeath cemetery to the House of Knowledge. Patrols man the walls at all times, though many of the Neverwinter citizens, who proudly defended the wall for years, have been displaced by hired mercenaries. If you’re looking to make a name for yourself in Neverwinter, you could do worse than serving a turn on the wall.
